As the local organizer I am happy to welcome researchers in electronic business and mobile business to our region. Vestfold has always been the hub of e-business in Norway with several large e-businesses, but also companies developing software and services for the e-business industry. Vestfold has long traditions of trade, going back to the town of Kaupang, the oldest Norwegian trade outpost, during the Viking era. The tradition continued with a large merchant fleet operating on all seas, operated by Vestfold shipowners. When the merchant fleet was downscaled due to economy, a new generation started creating e-business companies.
The University of South-Eastern Norway works closely with local businesses to help them build better e-business solutions. E-business is an important part of the curriculum for both business and information systems students. Our university is therefore very happy to act as the local host for IWEMB 2019, and will do our best to provide you as a participant with good facilities and a enjoyable social program.
